It's no coincidence that Jesus was born into poverty and that He
did not minister from a position of earthly power.
But He (the Lord) said to me (Paul), "My grace is
sufficient for you, for
My power is made
perfect
in weakness." - 2 Corinthians 12:9
There is a time to embrace your weaknesses, so that God's power might be shown.
There is also a time to be strong.
Was Jesus Strong or Weak?
Think about this. Even though Jesus was poor and His life was
being sought by those in power, did Jesus EVER strike you as a weak person? In fact one of the
first things that amazed the crowds about Jesus was the fact that He spoke with such
AUTHORITY. When He spoke, people listened - intently.
The Secret To Power
There's a secret to having such power in your life. This
secret will eliminate so much uncertainty from your life. It can break the chains
that are keeping you from being all that God would have you be. Are you ready? Well,
here's the secret: DECIDE. Make firm decisions and move forward.
What If?
"But Bill, what if…..?" I can already hear you asking. The
answer is "I don't care about 'what if'." When faced with a situation or a question
you 1.) Ask God for the answer.* 2.) Wait a reasonable time for the answer. (typically 1-7
days) 3.) Make a decision and move forward without
doubt.
Does this ever lead to failure? I won't kid you, yes it can, but that's ok. There
are failures that God wants you to experience.
*Re-read "How to Hear God Speak" if you're not sure how to hear from the Lord.
The Key To The Secret
The key to using the secret is to believe without
doubt. If you are wrong, God will show you in due time, plain as day. But it
is still the right thing to do.
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all
without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must
believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and
tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; - James 1:5-7
Start Now
The most important application of this is in your own
relationship with God. Are you unsure about your whether or not to follow
Christ? DECIDE. Are you unsure about the Bible? DECIDE. Are you unsure
what God wants you to do? Ask and DECIDE.
Just to be clear, I want you to know that I am NOT advocating a prosperity
Gospel. This is not about "See it and Be it." Every decision you
make is to be subject to God's Will. But I am strongly encouraging you to
SEEK God's Will and that you DECIDE TO DO IT.
Shocking Scripture
Jesus has surprisingly harsh words about half-way Christians:
(Jesus speaking) I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 'So
because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you
out of My mouth.' - Revelation 3:15-16
Now I don't know about you, but I know that I don't want Jesus spewing me out of His
mouth! DECIDE. It will add great power and clarity to your life.
Have a powerful week!
In His Love,
Bill
